Bo Bikes Bama is a charity bike ride started by Auburn legend Bo Jackson to honor the lives lost during the April 27, 2011 tornadoes and help the state of Alabama recover and prepare for the future. In the past five years, Bo Bikes Bama has attracted approximately 2,000 cyclists from across the country to raise money to help those affected by disasters in Alabama.
Bo Bikes Bama initiatives support the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund (GERF), which has repaired hundreds of homes and provided community storm shelters throughout the state. United Ways of Alabama serves as the fiscal agent for GERF, which is administered by the Governor's Office of Volunteer Services.
Bo Bikes Bama has raised more than $2.1 million to support the Alabama Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund, which has repaired more than 600 homes and built more than 68 community storm shelters.
Bo Jackson and the Bo Bikes Bama team will host the final Bo Bikes Bama ride on Saturday, May 3, 2025, bringing to a close an incredible 14-year journey of community, resilience, and impact.
